I believe that it is important to have fun while learning. A good example would be my experience with science. I used to hate science, but my senior year of high school I had a great teacher in my Advanced Biology class. He made the class fun and entertaining. I believe that is the best way to teach someone.

Give Real life experience a try

Experience throughout school, work and personal experience dealing with the mentally challenged and dyslexia. my best friend had a son who was dyslexic and also he had ADD and I got him to trust me in babysitting and I taught him various things. I taught him how to read and write he could not accomplish that on his own. He was 11 at the time and I think with kids you have to be creative to teach them and I am very creative. I also have an aunt who is mentally handicapped, and I love spending time with her she is a very giving person. They teach me and it is always a joy to work with them and give something back.
Hands on approaches mixed with worldly knowledge, and a very patient style.

During my graduate year at San Diego State University in the School of Education I worked at one junior high school teaching U.S.History and one high school teaching an English class. The next year I subbed for the public schools in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. I also taught Ecology and Conservation for the Camping and Education Foundation from 1971-1974, in International Falls, Minnesota. I was also a ski instructor in Innsbruck, Austria. If a student has a thorough knowledge of the basics, then he does not need to rely on root memorization or luck to pass classes. I believe teaching and learning the basics are far easier than simply attempting to pass a test or earn a decent grade. All subjects in the end build upon each other, a strong foundation helps not only with the current class, but with all future classes as well.
