Some of my favorite artists include Egon Schiele, Gustav Klimt, John Singer Sargent, Mark Rothko, Edvard Munch, and Kathe Kollwitz. I much more of an abstract artist but can definitely incorporate traditional, academic approaches. I have a heavy background in art history and also love to incorporate styles, movements, and artists from the past to influence the future.

My comments on tutoring Sculpting : I know how to be creative. I know how to create sculptures and how to have the hallow middle without disturbing the surface of the piece

I have taught young students in grade school how to do arts and crafts. We have 4 different schools with about 20 kids that a group of us would teach during the summer. I have taught a young girl who had learning disablities to help her learn and play her flute. I have been in the Girl Scouts and being older I taughter alot of younger girls in different camps and groups different arts and crafts.

As a student working towards a Mathematics degree, very quickly I migrated away from the applied and into the pure, theoretical, aspects of Mathematics. Being familiar with math from several different pure standpoints (Topology, Algebra, and Analysis) I understand the benefit of being taught a concept from different viewpoints. I find teaching with more of a Topological flavor adds great depth to math, even for those at a young age. There is however a learning curve that must be overcome to grasp math in a visual way. If that milestone appears to be undesired, or insurmountable, I try and teach in a more straight forward, student-discovery, method of teaching.

While attending BYU I worked in the student advisement center part-time, mentoring and helping students develop their schedules, and tutored them in subject matter from courses I'd already completed. I served as a volunteer representative for the LDS church for two years in Denmark and Iceland. I speak fluent Danish and Norwegian, and I taught extensively on many topics to all age groups while over there.
