PROVIDES THE BEST AFFORDABLE MATH TUTORING AVAILABLE

As a student in technical logical philosophy, I soon became very interested in advanced mathematics. Once I had acquired sufficient knowledge of advanced mathematics I began tutoring mathematics in 2003. I have continued to tutor math and have enjoyed thoroughly assisting students in their acquisition of mathematical knowledge. I graduated from the Catholic University of America in 2005 with a mathematics minor. I attended the Catholic University of America in the 2005-2006 year as a non-degree student taking two more advanced math courses. I have always done well in my math courses with either a B or A grade. This is because of my natural comprehension of mathematical abstract theory.

My comments on tutoring Homework Help : I am a mother of a growing seven year old! I am very passionate in assisting fellow elementary students excel and enhance their skills. I am part of my daughter's PTA and monthly tutor her fellow classmates in reading skills. I have been part of the PTA for two years. For the past two years, I have been a private tutor for elementary children. Finally, for ten years, I professionally tutored my sister in language. I can assist your child in finishing their homework promptly and will make sure the assignments are understood. If a subject is very challenging, I can specialize a few additional worksheets that will eliminate confusion.

I am a very friendly and patient individual. Since I specialize in tutoring elementary children to adults,I understand I am going to have different methods of teaching. For all my students, I try to find out what their weakness and strengths are. I attempt to have them notice it as well; that way we can work together as a team. For children, I always have some type of reward or goal for them to strive for. For example, I would remind the student that after they finish their assignments they would receive a sticker, lollipop (under parent permission), or medal.I have found children love recognition. This keeps them focused or excited. For my adult session, the end of the day goal would be a little different. I would remind the student their goal and why they are pursuing tutoring. On the last day of the tutoring session, I usually treat the student out for lunch, provide a certificate of ... read more

varies depending upon student's needs
16 years of Public School Teaching Experience 15 years of Preschool Education Teacher I taught students with various special needs in a public school system for sixteen years. I left teaching to raise my son and then to raise my step children. Homework Help is one of my top subjects! I'm very good at managing homework, even when there is a lot to get done. It's important to tackle homework with a method so you don't feel overwhelmed. I can help with that! My GPA is 3.8, and my classmates are always asking me for homework help, wondering how I manage all of my college coursework!

I like to teach through repetition and practice. The only way to learn something is by learning the concept and working with it over and over again until it is stuck in your mind. I often achieve this with flashcards and organizing by colors. Colors can help categorize different concepts by associating aspects of a certain concept with one color, and aspects of another concept with a different color.
I've been tutoring friends and family for years! I love tutoring because it is so rewarding to see my lessons help students achieve better grades. I am studying to become an ASL interpreter, and have completed ASL levels 1, 2, and 3 with a GPA of 3.8. I worked as a professional nanny for 6 years, so I have experience working with children, and I have been tutoring friends and family for about 4 years.

Looking for help with Engineering, Math or Computer Science?

I am currently a PhD student in Computer and Electrical Engineering at the University of Maryland. I have both my B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Bucknell University. In addition, I have several years of experience as a teaching assistant at Bucknell. I also have several years of experience with computer science, programming for a government laboratory.
I like to try and figure out how a student goes about understanding different topics. Often times teachers teach right from the textbook, but this can be confusing and students can be left behind because they learn differently. I know from experience that lectures don't always help and that another approach can be best.

Math Tutor! Geometry, Algebra, Trigonometry!

I have tutored algebra 1 and 2, college algebra, intermediate algebra, pre-calculus, and geometry. My best subject is mathematics. On the SAT math section, I scored a 700 with the highest score being 800. When I was a freshman high school, I tutored students older than myself in subjects such as Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry. While still in high school, I took College Algebra at Broward College. I got the highest grade in that class -- an A.
My tutoring style is explaining the concept in the simplest possible terms and then practicing a few problems with the student. Then when I see the client has grasped the concept, I move on. I do not believe in rushing the student because I know how frustrating it is when one does not understand something.
