I have always been a tutor of sorts. I love to teach kids because of the sparkle they get in their eyes when they finally understand what they are being taught. I believe the key to learning is to break complex concepts down into manageable sizes. The goal of tutoring is to relate new or difficult material to simple ideas that are already familiar to the student. Above all else, it is important to communicate with the student to understand where the breakdown in understanding is and then develop an approach that aids in comprehension.
