Every student I have consistently tutored over the years, there has been improvement in scores. As long as I have the material that is needed for tutoring prior to the tutor session, the session should be very effective in improving grades and most importantly understanding.

I use a variety of teaching styles to involve students in the learning process: in traditional and computer-mediated classroom settings, and over the internet. The traditional teaching style (face-to-face interaction) was blended with technology (such as online discussions and assignments) for a boosted learning environment. Teaching and working with children not only educates them but it educates myself in the process. I get to touch up on materials that the children are learning, as well as learn better ways to educate students. Patience is what I believe is the most important aspect of teaching. Children can become unfocused very easily. When children are distracted it may be very difficult to get them focused. Taking your time and making sure they refocus, can actually save time. During my studies at SUNY Buffalo I tutored in Regents Math which I also took when I was in high school. In Virginia Tech I was a Graduate Research Assistant. I ran Aerospace Engineering labs, assigning work to undergraduate students which I graded. I was available for multiple hours per week assisting students in their homework and lab reports. Since then I have been a math tutor in calculus. Engineering requires a solid understanding of math from the basics such as algebra and geometry to more difficult calculus and linear algebra.
