My comments on tutoring Pre-Calculus : You need to know your basic if you are tutoring calculus

I would like to explain a global picture of a class material, what to expect from learning the class. All of this is not to scare students, but to mentally prepare them with the challenge ahead. I like to give my student quizzes after the tutoring, just to make sure they understand. This is a feedback process, so I could adjust my tutoring style accordingly.
Have a PhD in organic chemistry. Have been teaching assistants in almost undergraduate level chemistry classes (general chemistry, organic chemistry, and analytical chemistry) during graduate school. Have more than 13 years tutoring experience. Paid my undergraduate college education through tutoring and scholarships. My strongest subjects are chemistry and mathematics.

My comments on tutoring Pre-Calculus : Math Minor

I was a valedictorian in my high school, moved on to Fresno State on a full scholarship as a member of the Smittcamp Family Honors College. I obtained two degrees magna cum laude, one in Physics and the other in Philosophy, as well as a minor in Math. Here I tutored all levels of Calculus to college students under Fresno State's Math department for two semesters. During this time I did a variety of Physics research and obtained one journal publication. I also volunteered as a tutor in the community as an undergraduate. I subsequently joined Jesuit Volunteer Corps for a year. During this time I worked in a low income community and tutored regularly. I like to use a white board when I tutor, it makes it easier to solve many different problems without having to use paper. I also prefer that students bring questions and homework problems to tutor sessions that way I have a better understanding of what they need to learn.
