My comments on tutoring Special Education : Many of the psychology courses I have taken focused on special education learning theories and practices. Also, currently I am pursuing a graduate degree in special education

I believe that a student should have the time to figure things out on their own, but with guidance from their tutor or teacher. I think I should provide a student with all the tools they need, and then through example I will teach a student to figure things out for themselves. There is no other way that I know of to quickly build the confidence of a student and the belief in one's self, than to teach a student how to figure out problems on their own. It is a very uplifting and life changing experience for a student to finally have confidence in self. My role is to encourage, guide, and correct when they may be going in the wrong direction while learning.

Teaching is so rewarding, there's nothing better than helping someone understand something they have struggled with in the past. I am a very patient person who loves to work with people. I also enjoy helping people overcome challenges. For example: when I worked at the accounting office my specialty was dealing with clients who had or have issues with the IRS. It was my favorite part of the job, especially when the issue was resolved! My teaching style is different for different people, everyone learns differently.
