I think that it is important to find the types of learning that each student finds easiest to understand, and tailor the course so that it works well with their particular learning abilities. This can easily be done in a classroom setting as well as an individual basis. I love teaching, but to students about 12 and older. I am able to relate and connect well with them, and let them learn and take pride in their progress. Especially with younger kids, a high degree of focus on my part can be necessary to keep them on task, but I find that one can be firm with them and not need to be patronizing or forceful.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe all students can learn mathematics. I see it to be my responsibility as a teacher to accommodate individual learning needs and to continue trying new approaches until the student has understood the material.
