I have put a lot of thought and effort into my teaching style. I love teaching and love working with all types of students. I love and respect all children and try to meet them where they are. I am very perceptive at times and don't give up easy. If one thing doesn't work, I'd try another. I believe in good education that develops the person, not just prepare them to contribute to society and to make a living.
Along with 7 other students, I was directly hired out of college to teach 7th grade English. Along with my 4 years of Latin experience, it increased my abilities in the grammatical aspect of the English language. I also tutored college students while I was attending in first yr Latin and math. I took 4 yrs of French in high school, graduated Shenendehowa in 1974. I enjoy working with kids in small groups or one on one. I am a mother of 11 children, the youngest is now 7. I also believe I could assist a first year algebra student or younger.

I really enjoy tutoring. I have been told in the past by students I have tutored that I am able to bring the information to their level, helping them to more easily understand the subject at hand. I believe that anyone can learn and master any topic that they are faced with. With the right techniques and learning styles, I believe that any effective tutor can aid their student tremendously.

Having lived for two, nonconsecutive years in France, I developed a deep sense of responsibility and personal drive. I went into teaching because I enjoy working with children. I do not think of teaching as a job. It is very rewarding to me that I can help children understand complicated material. I make things simple and use things that they already know to build on to get them to understand the material. I like to teach the children pneumatic devices to help them remember the material1. When I instruct the students, I make sure to teach the different learning styles among the children and abilities.
