Education is enlightening, enjoyable, and energizing!

I returned to school at the age of 47 to get my degree in history. My experience consists of tutoring from 1 - 60 students (in the same hour), teaching at Greenville Technical College, and creating my own tutoring service. I deeply enjoy all kinds of history and have a passion for teaching others. From my very first job (selling papers at the age of 11), I have used teaching as the medium for interacting with people.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have been teaching music - guitar, piano, bass and music theory all of my life, but most recently contiguously for the last seven years. I have a BA in Sociology from Clemson University. I was always good in math, science and history in addition to social sciences and music.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am a graduate of Clemson University, with a BA in Biological Sciences. I have always enjoyed biology since my first AP class my Junior year of high school. After college graduation I worked for six months in a cancer research lab, which gave me the knowledge of "real life" science and how that effects our lives I have worked as an after school and summer camp counselor which has helped me learn how to relate to them, and teach them material they are learning in school.
I love that look that you get from a child who gets what you are teaching them. When the light bulb turns on, and you know that they understand the process. That's what makes it all worth it. My teaching style is that with enough work, any child can succeed. They just have to know they matter to the teacher. As a graduate of Northern Illnois, and with currenty enrollment in NC Teach at Western Carolina a commitment to excellence in education would be an understatment. Having taught high school in both affluent and underprivileged areas I strive to make sure that every student has a positive learning experience.
