Graduating magna cum laude, I take education seriously where I feel that everyone has the potential to grow and succeed. I have a bachelors degree in social work and a minor in human relations where I was on the deans list/graduated with cumulative average g. p. a. of 3.6. I was chosen as a IV-E child welfare scholar through Saint Cloud State/University of Minnesota where I received additional focus/training in helping children in need. I have had education in the liberal arts/general education and I am familiar with a variety of subjects. I have tutored children in a variety of subjects while volunteering for catholic charities in Saint Cloud. I also facilitated a support group helping individuals in need as well.

Teaching needs to adjust with each student or class, because everyone has their own flavor for learning. I tend to let the student take the lead at first, and then I try to guide them through the areas they're questioning. It's like a car on a road with a new driver: the student is driving all over the road, and I need to gently urge them into the right lane (or the correct answer). I also like to use real world examples when I can from my past experience, and encourage the student to do so as well.
When I first started college, I had no idea what to major in. I started taking creative writing and literature classes though, and found my niche in English. I enjoy writing, reading, proofreading, checking grammar and punctuation, and find myself reviewing billboards and magazines for errors. As an educator in the school district I have multiple areas of experience that include academics in math, science and reading. I also have experience in dealing with multiple levels of reading levels that are conducive to cognitive, behavioral, or emotional problems that prevent optimal learning to occur and have utilized mant techniques to help students achieve their individual goals.
