Art Tutor/Portfolio Preparation – Yale School of Art MFA

I am a recent graduate from Yale School of Art where I received my Masters of Fine Art in Painting/Printmaking. Before attending Yale I went to Asbury University where I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Studio Art. I have experience teaching painting and drawing classes. My work ranges from painting, video, sculpture and installation. I have shown throughout Kentucky, Ohio and Connecticut. In 2014 I will be going to Iceland for a residency at Hafnarborg Museum, as well as Vermont to the Vermont Studio Center. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe each student can learn and it’s my responsibility to find how each one learns best. So much of it is about instilling confidence in the student that he or she is intelligent and capable of mastering the subject. I have been very successful at this and have often had short tutoring assignments: once we discover what is keeping a student from grasping the subject, fixing it is easy and then the student can proceed on their own with or without the help of a parent. The younger the student, the more I appreciate having the parent involved in what I am doing, and the results we are achieving, so they can actively participate with their child, especially once I am no longer needed.
