My comments on tutoring Finance : Was not a huge fan of my Finance courses, but always excelled in them because of the math relationship.. Unfortunately I have never gotten to put my finance course study to work in the real world except for several loans I have taken out.... I knew it would pay off somewhere in life!!

I like to help students discover the solutions and answers on their own. I am here to help guide them in the right direction not to provide the answer.
I spent the last several years preparing to become a teacher and have enjoyed every bit of it. I have spent time in the classroom, varying from 4th grade and up not only in math classes, which I will be teaching, but others as well. Although it was not necessary to get a Minor in Education to become a teacher, I decided that it would be in my best interest to gain as much knowledge on different teaching styles and approaches to developing my own classroom environment. All students have the ability to learn it just comes down to understanding the best way to help a student achieve at the highest level possible.

I attended a preparatory school in Junior High and High School. I then went on to Mississippi College where I obtained a Bachelor degree in Home Economics with an emphysis on Fashion Merchandising. When I became a mom, I decided to home school my kids so that I could take an active part in their education and I could guide them in ways that someone else might not find interesting or important.
I love to learn and everyone learns differently. I believe that if the information is not being understood one way, then we need to find another way to instruct. Hands-on learning and learning through experience always leaves a lasting impression. My teaching style is in form of participation. I like my students to be part of the lessons. I believe teaching (or education) is not a one person show. The best way for to students to learn is by making them participate. It is not just a matter of giving lectures and tests. It is a matter of involving them also in the lectures.

Even as a kid, I loved to teach and to learn. And one of the most important things that I've learned is that teaching isn't about asking someone to remember facts; instead, it is about giving them tools to help them think so that those facts mean something.
