I begin instruction with an individual student by assessing his/her preferred learning style. To the extent possible, instruction proceeds through that style. I utilize the individual interests of the students to improve their reading skills. This has proved successful even with students previously thought to have already reached their full potential. A Little Bit About Me...

I have teaching experience on all grade levels in urban school districts. I am currently a special education teacher in the Saint Louis Public School District, and I have enjoyed the challenge of working with educationally handicapped students and seeing many of them being mainstreamed into the general education population. I have had the opportunity to incorporate a learning center environment based on student needs, and utilized activity centers for individualized and small group instruction.
