I am a recent graduate of Western Michigan University with multiple degrees in accounting. I have extensive knowledge of journal entries, general ledger and the accounting cycle. For 2 years I have worked with H & R Block and have a specialty in tax. My tutoring experience was through Beta Alpha Psi and I did a semester of tutoring undergraduate accounting students. I love to help people understand the complexities of accounting and the tax code. As a tax preparer I made it my duty to help each client understand their tax situation and made sure they could take all allowable deductions and credits. My teaching style is to lead by example but then provide the student with the oppurtunity to work through the problem on their own. My goal is that the student not only understands how to solve the problem but why the methods work.

I have a BS in chemical engineering. I have 13 years of applying engineering and project management principles in the automotive plastics industry. A key to my success is influencing people by explaining "why" and "how" something should be done to develop partnerships leading to increased cooperation and advocacy. In my career in automotive plastics, I coached or taught manufacturing principles to improve quality and efficiency. My demonstrated success is due in part to my efforts to educate and coach operators, engineers and managers to understand the basic principles of chemistry, math and engineering to buy into a logical course of action. I have also greatly enjoyed my voluntary participation as a youth football coach. I have coached 8-12 year olds the last 5 years.
