Learning's only effective if it's fun.

I have a goofy, hands-on style. I try to make it fun. I am very strict, however, when it comes to grammar, respect, and completing proposed tasks. Obviously I have different styles for adults and children. My lessons are always custom designed with the client in mind and age-appropriate. I have an arsenal of materials and activities which I constantly draw from. I aim for a balance between games of all sorts and drills/assessments. I have to be very flexible and creative while teaching, and I enjoy it very much.

I have 10 years of experience as a substitute teacher in all areas of elementary education as well as high school classes. I have 2 years experience as an in home tutor for a student with physical disabilities. I have 2 years experience as an itinerate teacher for an environmental education program and a gifted/talented program.
I love working with children and I believe all children have the capacity to learn. Teachers need to recognize and learn the correct methods to instruct individual students using their strengths to overcome their weaknesses.
