Although I value my college degree in biology and formal education, my real love for learning and teaching has been honed over the years teaching my own kids at home. I tutored math in college for 3 years, mainly algebra and trigonometry. I received a BS in Mathematics with a secondary education certificate. I was a substitute math teacher for seventh and eighth grade pre-algebra classes for 10 weeks. Afterwards, I had various jobs in finance. During the last eight years I have tutored my children in math (kindergarten to seventh grade). I started teaching in 1970 as a K-8 substitute, continuing until being hired by a private school in 1975. I then taught full time in East LA. Upon moving to Wa. and being certified here, I taught in several schools in differing cultural settings untill recently starting my own business in Newport.
