I have 9 years of experience in teaching chemistry and physics at the high school level. Additionally, extensive experience teaching/tutoring a myriad of other subjects, such as, earth science, algebra, trigonometry, biology, CPR/first aid, GED prep and various adult education classes. I also have 15 years of practical laboratory experience as a laboratory chemist with increasing levels of responsibility.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked most of my adult life in education or journalism, and I was able to combine my two passions as a journalism professor at the college level for several years. I am currently a visiting lecturer in media studies at Bridgewater State College and a substitute teacher in local schools. I have taught social studies, business and typing in secondary schools. I also have taught in other venues -- as an exercise instructor for youth, adults and disabled individuals, as a word processing instructor, and as an English as a Second Language instructor to new immigrants through Literacy Volunteers of America. My teaching style is unique to each student's indivdual needs. I take time to recognize my students learning style and provide the need materials or teaching style based their needs. I prefer tutoring to working in a classroom because I can give each student the specialized one-on-one time they need to help not only keep them on track with their school's requirements, but also introduce them to better study habits that could help them excel in the classroom when they do return to school.

I have been a high school teacher of Latin and ancient Greek, for three school years, and I spent an additional school year as a high school librarian and study skills course teacher. I also have a year of college Latin instruction experience, and a year as a TA for an ancient history professor.
