I strongly believe that all students can find success as long as they work for it, and are encouraged to reach their goals. I am very patient with my students, and allow them to really think about the problem and work toward a workable solution. In my small group sessions I will usually present an example and have the students work on it while I go to each student to make sure they are understanding the problem. Seeing the student's progress through their course and enjoy knowing how to do the problems is the real enjoyment that I get out of tutoring

A Little Bit About Me...

I am a recent graduate of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth with a degree in English. I take pride in my ability to properly spell and use grammar efficiently. My experience writing reports and technical writing (grants and proposals) helped me come to the conclusion that people have a hard time expressing themselves. Thus, I decided to help people in their writing so they could explain how they were feeling, or just to get the great ideas they had in their minds down on paper. During my years attending UMass Dartmouth, I recieved my Bachelor's Degree in Sociology with a minor in Business Administration. But I also gained alot of experience working with children. I tutored elementary age students in the star program and college students at my campus job in the Unity House. I also was the coordinator for the New Bedford Speech Academy. This program taught students fron 4-6th grade public speaking skills. I have applied the skills I learned to my current job as a home tutor. I tutor elementary to high school students in all subjects.
