My teaching style with students of all ages is to facilitate their learning as opposed to simply feeding them what I feel is the best response. Students learning is maximized when they can take ownership of and pride in their work. I am very patient. Recognizing that all students learn differently, I seek to ascertain their learning styles and then adjust my tutoring style to that learning style.
I taught and tutored ESL two years before entering law school. I hae taught college classes as an adjunct and later FT professor at Penn College for 25 years. As an active member of Mensa International and someone who's consistently done well in number-related fields, I've come to love teaching what I can understand. I perceive the world in a very unique way and I excel at using my perspective to help my students understand what others typically have difficulty imparting to them. A Little Bit About Me...

As a supervisor and trainer in the military, it was my responsibility to train the new individuals that came into the job. There was a lot of studying material that I constantly had to sit down and go over with them. We made flashcards, took notes, made up quizzes, did verbal question and answers, etc. I actually used to tutor math in High School when I was in an advanced Calculus class and have helped many friends with their college math. As a grad student, I am writing lots of essays which has really helped me with my English skills. I have a lot of academic experience that I would love to utilize while tutoring.
I have taught a few weapons classes and use of force classes as a security forces member in the Air Force. However, I have never taught classes on a regular basis.

A Little Bit About Me...

Every job I've ever had has been one where I teach. I had a job 3 years teaching ballroom dance, 2 years I coached T-ball, and for 4 years I've tutored math. I just recently graduated and I can't see myself not helping someone learn and love math. Math isn't a subject that everyone loves but I believe that can change with the right teacher.
