I use positive motivation with my students, explaining how subject matter being covered should relate to them and their future successes. I try to link the subjects with current events and how lack of knowledge on specific subjects can cost them either financially or impact their health and well being. For example, when I encounter a senior who is not participating in class, I give them an employment application to fill out, explaining if they have difficulty completing it, they better join the class.
I graduated LSU and was commissioned as an officer in the US Air Force. After working as an engineer for a major defense company, I pursued an MBA and started my own business. During the last twenty years, I have volunteered my time at the Boys & Girls club, home school my son for three years and taught courses at a college.
