I have been teaching for 6 years now. I originally started out in Kindergarten which I taught for 3 years, then I student taught in 2nd grade and 3rd grade, taught 3rd grade for a year and now I have been happily teaching first grade for my second year. I began my tutoring experience in the fall of 2009 with a program called Breakthrough Manchester. It serves underprivileged students in the area who do not have the resources to succeed. They ranged from grade 5 to 8. With Breakthrough I worked one-on-one with students as well as in a classroom setting in which I conducted my own lessons. I helped students with a variety of subjects such as science, math, social studies, geography, and even organizational skills.
