In this work, I studied in-depth the characteristics and life cycles of different microorganisms, including viruses, bacteria, protozoan, and fungi, and performed culture and sensitivity testing of the microorganisms. With my experience in the Clinical Pathology Training Program for 4 years, I decided to teach a Microbiology class, including laboratory, at Lorma Colleges in the Philippines. I prefer to teach not through rote memorization or lengthy lectures, but through participatory experiences. Following the theory that some people are audio learners, some are visual learners, and some are kinesthetic (doing) learners, I like to convey information to students through several media so they have a chance to absorb the lesson in whichever way best suits them.
