I hold a degree in English from Miami University, but my passion for English composition and literature began during my years at St. Ursula. Since then writing has manifested as my most natural ability. During my time with the United States House of Representatives, I earned a broad range of research ability and communication skills. While I do not have "resume ready" tutoring experience, I spend a great deal of time with my nieces and nephews (ages 4-16) assisting with their language arts and composition studies.
I believe learning is best achieved through hands-on experience. I was never successful in classrooms where teachers treated students as subordinates; I thrived when I was given a task and some tools and pushed to my intellectual limits. I am patient, but demanding, and know that learning-- like life-- is not a once size fits all model.
