Teaching has been something I have done a great deal of my life no matter what path I was on. When I was in nursing school, patient teaching was a strong point of mine. I love children. I am patient, kind and believe in utilizing intrinsic and extrinsic forms of lessons so that children develop a love of learning and see the short term rewards and long term rewards.My goal is to help a student succeed.
I am currently heading for a BS in Elementary Education while I am home schooling my children. I have home school grades 6-11. I have accomplished raising reading levels within 6 months past 2 grades past level. I have tutored and home schooled children outside my own and have been asked to assist children with reading. After obtaining a Masters of Science with a Minor in Education, teaching has become my life pursuit. Even when working for a large Biotech firm, I have tutored for one year in public schools during my lunch hour. As the volunteer leader for our 500 person campus, I am proud to say I spear-pointed the adoption of our nearby high-needs school. I once was called an “eternal pupil” by a fellow teacher; it is easy to see why. After receiving my BS in Business Education I immediately returned to college to earn my MS in Business Education.
