Biology is one of my top subjects! I am currently an university employed tutor in biology after attaining the highest possible scores in all general bio I, II and the corresponding laboratories as well as Primate Behavioral Ecology. If you are a struggling student, we can work together to make sure you succeed. This semester I will be adding general zoology and animal behaviors.

My approach is multimodal as all students are different. The one consistent element is that of an active learning environment. Passive memorization and repetitive tasks are not part of my repertoire as both have usually been unsuccessfully attempted by those seeking tutoring. I request a lot of participation from the student. Development of critical thinking is also a fundamental part of the tutoring environment. This skill alone will help students through all academic courses (and life in general). My teaching style is based on reading then reviewing. At that point in time ask questions to see if the student has grasped the information being given. If not, answer questions then clarify. When reviewing information it is important to make sure the student knows reasoning behind subject matter so that they are understanding logic and not just memorizing information. In subjects that invloves math such as probability, chemistry, or statistics, I would do a few examples followed by letting the tutee working a few problems.
