I graduated from Plymouth State University in 2008 with my B.S. in Health Education. My option was Wellness Management which has a business component but in obtaining the degree I was required to do some teaching as well. (Not formally, more presentations to my peers and community education. I do not have a teacher certification.) I am a Certified Health Education Specialist which is a certification on top of my degree. I did some mentoring while I lived in Dover, NH and greatly enjoyed my time spent working with youth. Currently I work at a Federally Qualified Health Center. There I do community education as well as marketing. I really enjoy working with people. As a University of Southern Maine graduate, I look forward to having my own classroom where I can touch many students' lives. I have earned my BA in General Science with a concentration in Earth Science. I tend to use the many experiences that I have learned from in my own classroom and with students that I can help. I have not been a tutor before, but have had several teaching experiences. I was thinking that tutoring would help me solidify my philosophy of teaching: "Allowing kids to explore the possibilities. Anyone can do what they put their mind to." I love teaching and working with children. There is nothing better to me then seeing a student discover something new and being excited to learn.
