I currently tutor a 9 year old and a 13 year old, both for reading and writing. I've taken early childhood education courses before, and worked hands on in a preschool, in which I put together lesson plans and taught to the class. I'm also the oldest of five, and grew up with a big family. My younger brother and sisters (ranging from 4-19 years old) are my absolute best friends, and one of the main reasons that I have such a love for children. During my undergraduate studies, I acquired a fond interest in the study of researching, writing, and grammatical skill. I received my BA in Mass Communications and minored in English. A Little Bit About Me...

Through my experience with the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, I was expected to demonstrate a high level of expertise in my chosen field. As a writing emphasis major, I chose writing classes that focused on the principles of teaching writing and reading in a classroom setting. I also took several classes that focused on the student writer of today, and ways in which to-as an instructor-encourage students to want to read and write. All of these classes and experiences will help me as I hope to further my education and pursue a master's degree in teaching.
