My comments on tutoring German : Took two years of high school German and two years of college level German. I can speak, read, and write at an elementary level. (High-school, beginner college level).

I am currently a senior at Indiana Univeristy Kokomo. I will graduate in spring 2013 with a B.A. in Psychology and minors in Leadership Studies as well as International Studies/Relations. My college coursework has a focus on psychology but my degree requires me to have a very liberal education, as such, I have taken classes in english, history, sciences, economics, government, and many others. I am a student leader and have been for the past two years. I am currently Student Body President of IU Kokomo and represent over 3,000 students. Past leadership expereices include being psychology club treadurer and president, orientation leader, and student senator. I have supplemented my college education by working on a behavioral/mental health unit. I have also done research with one of IU Kokomo's psychology professors, and am currently a teaching assistant for another psychology professor.

Students learn to write by writing (and by reading). I have used a number of different text books but I find that students learn best when writing about something that matters to them. My approach to tutoring, then, would be to find out what a student truly cares about and start from there. In addition, I would begin by taking a diagnostic writing sample in order to see what mechanical issues seemed most important to address. I would never attempt to tutor a student with some kind of formulaic, standardized regimen of study but would work my hardest to tailor tutoring sessions to the individual needs of each student.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have been tutoring children and adults for about 7 years now in all levels of math and science. I prefer math tutoring but will do science so long as it is a math based science (no biology or physiology please). I love to work with students finding their unique learning style and making math just make sense. I have a degree in Civil Engineering which has allowed me to feel comfortable with just about all levels of math and most levels of science. I am working on my MBA which has allowed me to branch out into being able to assist students with accounting and other business related mathematics.
