Psychology is one of my top subjects! I have a minor in psychology at the bachelor level, and am working on my masters' degrees in community mental health counseling and school counseling.

I began tutoring in high school, as a sophomore. I started tutoring freshmen, and continued throughout my high school career. I would also often lead study groups with friends. In college, I was never an official tutor. However, I would lead study groups with friends. I have a strong background in sociology, which was my undergraduate major. I minored in psychology as well. I taught undergraduates at St Cloud State University for one year from 2011-2012. I currently work in the Social Work department at the university in research analysis. I have a bachelors degree in sociology with a minor in psychology and am writing my thesis for completion of my masters in social responsibility with an emphasis in sociology. My first focus in on developing rapport with the student and also discussing what they (or their parent/s) may be looking for from a tutor. I like to take a positive and developmental approach which focuses on building in goals and building on the success of those goals. Also finding out how the student learns or likes to learn, and assessing what has been successful/not so successful in the past for learning a subject.
