A Little Bit About Me...

The best way to describe my teaching style is to find a creative way to remember material. For example, I have a child that had to memorize his prepositions. We made up a song that included them all, in order. It turned out to something like this....ABOARD a ship AS we were traveling ABOUT eight knots, etc. This style was very effective for memorizing. For subjects that require more understanding than memorizing, I prefer my "teach and try" method. This means that I go through multiple problems with a student explaining the steps involved. Then, I set-up a mock test to test their abilities solo. I therefore can grasp their understanding and pinpoint their weaknesses.

My experience in teaching in the the ESL adult learning education, college secretarial courses and Junior HS all subjects. I enjoyed the thrill of teaching beginning students and student that needed to improve skills for the jog market. I was responsible for assessments, lesson plans, daily and weekly exams. The most important part of teaching is building a students self esteem in challenging subjects and allowing some self directed assessments.
