A Little Bit About Me...

My first tutoring experience was in my freshman year of college. I tutored basic college algebra and calculus. Having earned two bachelor degrees in both math and physics. I feel I have a good understanding of not only the theory but also the applications of math to science. Tutoring both privately and publicly has also increased my speaking and presentation abilities. I have also tutored test taking strategies for the SAT, ACT, and GRE. In my years tutoring I have tutored middle school through graduate level courses. I also have taught adult students at the community college level.
I love learning math and science and I enjoy sharing the same love of learning with my students. I like seeing the look on their face when they really get it! Students requiring tutoring are sometimes in academic distress and have anxiety therefore I have a more easy going and patient style of tutoring ... read more

I began tutoring formally in high school for sibling's friends who needed assistance in all subjects. When the opportunity arose to help my alma mater, I took the change to teach debate, public speaking, political science, and advise college level students. I've tutored students in English as I was former major in college as well as nearly every social science subject you can think of. I've also taught multiple sections of study skills courses.
Both of my parents were teachers so it is in my blood. I am a firm believer in finding the right way to convey information to anyone, especially your student. My goal was always to confer the desire to learn no matter the subject. I remember the teachers who were passionate for their subjects and seek to emulate their expertise as much as possible in an environment that holds that students can learn pretty much anything they put their mind ... read more

I know that it is possible for all the achieve their goals if they are given the opportunity to be taught in ways which they best learn. I personally had to discover my own learning style. Now I work to help others reach their potential by helping them discover their learning style. As a tutor I can only explain my own style is that of my students. I will work hard to adapt my own ways to benefit those who I am privileged to teach.

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching and working with children and adults. My first experience in education was with children's music classes, and have since enjoyed the opportunity to teach adults at the community college level. I would describe my style as adaptive. In my experience every child and adult requires somewhat of a different approach. After careful evaluation, a course is developed to meet the students needs. With that said, no matter what approach is taken, above all else I know that practice and a solid understanding of the subject's terms is the first key to successful learning.
For over four years, I have been involved in private tutoring as well as teaching classes available to the public. I have a passion for teaching and enjoy helping others succeed. While completing my Bachelors in Business Administration, I developed a firm understanding and passion for economics, finan ... read more

While working with at risk students, I was faced with challenges that ranged from behavioral, health, educational, as well as family dynamics. With that experience I have learned to be fluid with your teaching approaches with the students. During my time with the students I noticed that some were able to learn by a verbal approach and others were more visual. In spite of the approach I noticed that it was important that you hold the attention of the child by making it exciting as well as be patient and considerate of their feelings.
While working at Excel Personal Development, I had the opportunity to mentor students ranging from elementary school to Middle School. Over the five years with the organization I have worked with at risk students that were diagnosed with mental diagnosis. My education has only enhanced my love of teaching.I have experience in many fields from being a trained Make-up artist to running nightclubs, but teaching another person to speak proper Spanish is a skill that I truly value.
Teaching others should be fun and effortless. The style of the teacher is what can make or break a great lesson and I feel that my students would enjoy our lessons together. Students should feel comfortable enough to ask questions and never feel overwhelmed by the lessons, that is what I strive for!

A Little Bit About Me...

I learned through visual aid. So, I guess I would lean towards this style of teaching. However, if a student learns better with audio aid then I would be willing to combine the two methods to better educate the student. My goal is to provide the best education possible and to suceed in that is to have great communication and alittle fun doing the work that is expected.
I have not taught anyone or tutored anyone for money. However, I would like to have the oppitunity to be able to tutor children or young adults on their way of the journey of life. I too was tutored going through school and not just once. I attended Sylvin Learning Center every other year since sixth grade. It helped me understand the areas that I didnt and excel in the areas I did. I would like to give thas opportunity to someone else.
