As a teacher you are dealing with various levels of learning as well different personalities. I believe you have to be open to what works for the individual and the classroom. Many young students do not understand why they must learn and why it is important. We as educators must show students how education applies to all life, especially theirs. As a graduate in Accounting, I was given the tools to be able to teach and comprehend a lot of math skills. I was able to take both Business and Math Courses in college including: Business Management, Calculus, Business Accounting, and Algebra. During the last 4 years I have privately tutored students in math and 98% of them went from being F students to B-A students in both math and business courses.
I love to teach students of all ages. I love the looks on their faces when I help them get something that they never thought they would learn. I am very patient and love to show them a few short cuts on different things that way it makes it easier for them to learn and comprehend.
