It's imperative to listen and understand a students challenges. Reviewing their previous work and giving a current test is a good indicator of the situation. I believe in practice and examples as the clearest path to success. I don't hand deliver answers and I make the process towards answers engaging. I make sure the time and place are conducive to active and non-distractive learning. I relay the importance and relevance of the material. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been teaching and counseling special education students for 10 years. While earning my teaching degree, I was employed for 3 years as a paraprofessional and therapeutic staff support specialist. The students I tutored and counseled ranged in age from 9 to 21 years old. For the past 7 years I have been employed part time at an private alternative education school as the special education teacher. The students are in 7th through 12th grade, and they are diagnosed with a need for emotional support. I also work each afternoon as a home school teacher. My student’s exceptionality is Asberger’s Syndrome. I have been tutoring in the home for 7 years.

As an Information Technology Professional, my Math has continued to grow in my vocation. I began Tutoring at Back-to-Basics Learning Dynamics in 2003; courses ranged from College Level Probability & Statistics, High School Algebra and Pre-Calculus, Science, Psychology, to English and World Cultures. In 2007 I started at Academic Connections Tutoring of Delaware, where I the started tutoring and educating Pre-Calculus, Algebra I and II, Probability and Statistics, College Algebra and Trigonometry, Plane Geometry, Integrated Math I, II, & III, and most recently, Chemistry.
