Learning and teaching is my passion. In high school it ws teachers with the same passion that made learning fun and encouraged me to achieve academic success. Most any subject can be made interesting if approached the right way. Mostly it is about patience and good respectful communication. I tend to prefer lectures combined with textbook assignments as opposed to teaching either using films, powerpoint presentations or computers. I work best with motivated students, even those with lower abilities, though I teach exclusively at the high school level and above. I am patient and one of my greatest assets is in analology; I have a profound ability to take complex ideas and make them simple.

I try to involve as many senses as I can when illustrating new concepts and ideas. Math manipulatives are essential elements for early math comprehension. Whenever a game can help solidify ideas, it is utilized and learning is always fun. Children reach benchmarks, such as reading independently and math computation at different rates, so it's important to be consistent but very patient and encouraging. A solid reading foundation is the greatest gift our children can receive. Comprehension is a key factor to understanding any subject at all.
