My approach to tutoring is that all students want to learn, some just need more of a push that others. It is my job to make the subject more relevant, interesting and understandable for them. I assume everyone is capable of learning the material and I am very skilled at differentiating my instruction to suit the needs of all levels of learners. I believe parents have a hard enough job, and it is sometimes best for someone else to tackle school subjects where the students are not thriving. Students often benefit from a fresh perspective and if their self-esteem is at all suffering from difficulties at school, having a new person involved in their lives can help them feel more confident again.
