I have been a substitute teacher in the surrounding school districts. In all school districts I have worked with children from many different backgrounds. My Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and my Master's degree as a certified Reading Specialist, not only provided me with the knowledge to teach students who were struggling with the basic reading skills, but also helped to enhance my skills as a reading teacher within a regular classroom. I believe that learning through hands-on experience is the best way to fully comprehend material. I want to interest students in academics. To accomplish this, a teacher must show how math, or reading is useful; how anything can be exciting. I want to make learning fun. And I use a variety of tactics to accomplish this.
I recently graduated from Bard College, a selective liberal arts school in New York. I have taken classes in a variety of subjects including biology, french, history, and writing.
