I have set-up courses in different manners and have come to the realization that students must be engaged. I create engagement in a variety of ways using differing types of assignments and projects to attempt to hook the students. A Little Bit About Me...

Learning should be fun. I strive to make a point of this when ever I teach. I do this in both lectures and tests. I find a little humor takes the edge off test taking and allows the student to concentrate on the subject matter without being nervous.

As a tutor, I understand my responsibility primarily as that of helping children reach their potential. I try to help my students understand concepts they are struggling with in primarily three ways. First, I find what their strengths are and see if I can extend understanding of these concepts to the one's they are struggling with. Secondly, I use many examples of a concept to break complex math down into simpler, concise ideas and problem-solving techniques. I am a recent graduate from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, with a BS in Business Administration - International Business and a focus in Chinese. Because this program is relatively new, a degree in International Business required multiple Finance courses, which allowed me to learn many advanced statistical and mathematical concepts.
