I am a recent grad from Stevens Point, starting my own private art teaching business. I have 7 years of professional experience, which includes gallery exhibits, juried shows and the sale of numerous works. I am most adept in oil painting, however I am also skilled in drawing (graphite, ink, charcoal, pastels) and 3 dimensional work (ceramic, metal, wood). I have been an aid for several workshops here in the Stevens Point Area. I believe that homeschooling and private lessons allow kids and adults to learn and understand their subject matter quicker, more efficiently, and with close guidance. I aim to teach any student like an adult, allowing my classroom/studio to operate like a college level course. I will host critiques, ask in depth questions and have each student develop their own digital portfolio by the end of the course/instruction.

I was a volunteer to teach Religion in a At Risk school. Also since starting my program at Cardinal Stritch University, I've been placed in a couple of schools and have taught along with the regular teacher. My goal is to be a teacher that can motivate students in their learning and to become sucessful students. I like teaching through differentiation methods. I believe all children learn differently and teachers need to offer different options to facilitate those students' learning and enhance their multiple intelligences.

I graduated summa cum laude with my BA and MA in Italian linguistics and while that seems to be a degree that is not very marketable in the field of general tutoring, I have studied other subjects at the graduate level which I believe qualify me to tutor younger students. My teaching style is different for each student. I have never considered myself a student that things come easy to. I always had to find a way to relate to the material, and when I tutor that is exactly what I try to achieve with each student.
