I have sons ages 17 and 20, and continually took an active role in fostering their education. From the time they first set foot in kindergarten, through high school, I regularly volunteered, supporting their and the schools’ needs. I assisted in the classroom, chaperoned field trips, dances, etc., planned and participated at parties, special events and any role that could make a small difference. A Little Bit About Me...

I like to laugh, have fun, and create a comfortable environment for individuals to learn. It is important to have that type of space so as to ensure that students do not form a sense of anxiety when entering the room or when studying that particular subject. I love creating a variety of activities: group, individual, hands-on, problem solving, comprehension and reading, and activities where students have to get up and move around. As long as concepts and terms are rehearsed and relearned students will be able to store it better than if they learned it once and then move on to the next concept.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am currently in school for my Masters in Teaching. At the completion of my program, I will be certified to teach grades one through eight. I have spent the last six months working with Kindergarten, First grade, and Third grade students in my field placement. Prior to starting school, I had three years of training experience in the political field. That was done in large groups ranging from 20 to 100 participants. I also worked one-on-one with candidates on their written campaign plans. I enjoy helping people find and understand information. When teaching, I like to encourage my students to find their own path and reasoning to the answer. I encourage supervised and structured trial and error where the student tries different methods to finding the answer. This nurtures the excitement of discovery and the joy of learning something new.
First, I am a life long learner and love reading.
