Writing is one of my top subjects! My approach, which focuses on each student's unique abilities and skills, translates to a high level of success for students writing at a college level

The key to my tutoring approach is that every student is unique. After we discuss what each student wants to focus on, I ask them to write a paper about a subject that we agree on. Then I take them through several revisions, with each revision focusing on key things they need to work on. I often recommend that students practice creating sentences and paragraphs that focus on each separate concept or skill they need to become proficient in. I follow that procedure over several appointments in which they write additional essays until my students are ready to move ahead without my assistance.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am very experienced in teaching small groups of college level students. During my senior year of college I was selected to be a Russian apprentice teacher through Kenyon College's Intensive Language Program. I taught students three times per week for approximately an hour each session. I had to go through training for this position, which taught me how to design lessons and utilize teaching tools to help students understand the material. As I am a recent graduate myself, I understand the needs of most students and what it takes to keep them engaged in learning. Socratic, and lecture. It really depends on subjects. For example, case analysis in a political science or philosophy course can be more constructively learned through the Socratic method - that is, an open and inclusive discussion in the form of question and answer. Other subjects, such as psychology or geology may be best taught in the form of direct lectures with the opportunity to ask questions.
I have years of excellent experience with analyzing, writing, and assisting others in academic as well as professional settings. I have done extensive research on various topics in Political Science and my experiences have taught time that there is never an end to learning, and there is no one single perfect answer to questions about natural or man-made phenomena.
