As cliché as this sounds - my favorite part of teaching is the satisfaction of knowing I made a difference. I have interacted with individuals across countless backgrounds and understand the idea of each student needing to hear things in their own terms. The simple concept penetrates through my patient teaching style. Some of my favorite ways to connect with students is to create simple analogies using subjects which interest them. At Bethel University I pursued a Secondary Education teaching certificate. Seeing an opportunity to teach high school english in Texas, I pursued teaching and volunteer teaching while living and working in Texas. A Little Bit About Me...

Because I have had the opportunity to work with students of many different ages and abilities, I have learned that there is no "right" way to teach/tutor. As a tutor I have had to adjust my teaching style depending on the type of student I am working with. What works for one student may not necessarily work with another. For example, if a student has a lackadaisical attitude, I will do what I can to try to motivate him/her. Other students may be very motivated, but may need help with focusing, organizing or other key skill. With all students, I try to be as patient as possible and as clear as I possibly can when I am explaining material.

Every child and adult learns differently. It is imperative that adaptation to an individual's learning style is addressed. I truly believe that everyone can be successful academically. I graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I am enrolled in a doctoral program currently to earn my Ed.D in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.
