I have a degree in mechincal engineering. I have work at the math tutoring center on the ISU campus in 1995 and 1996. I have also worked at the ISU student Math center in Idaho falls in 2010 and 2011. Most of my experience is working with students that strugle with math. I like to first get an idea of what the student knows about the problem.. I find that the more time I spend listening to what they know it naturally turns into what pieces I need to add-in. Unless they came to the session to learn new material that would be a different scenario entirely in which it would depend on the student how I taught.
