Meeting students where they are academically ~ 15 yrs. exp.

I have taught middle school language arts for 15 years in both public and private schools. I excel in teaching young people how to write clearly, completely, and concisely. While I can teach them grammar, punctuation, spelling, organization, and research skills. CONTENT often comes from the heart rather than the head. I have had several of my students win awards in writing completions. One struggling 8th grader worked so hard that he was accepted into an Honors English Class his freshman year in high school.
I believe that grammar and punctuation are critical in written expression. I am very focused on the learning style of the student and will begin with most student making that determination and connection with the student. I received my training from Cedarville University, Wright State University, Plymouth State College and Keene State College. I received my BA from Cedarville University in Elementary Education with an Emphasis in Special Education. I completed more training through a teacher mentor program through Plymouth State College to gain my Special Education certification in NH. I took 9 credits towards my masters at Keene State in the area of Special Education. I taught for 6 years in a rural school in NH, where I was a self-contained special ed. teacher for 4 years and a 4th grade teacher for 2 years. I'm hoping to help children better their lives and succeed!!

I have Substituted for two elementary schools on several occasions and I've subbed at a jr./sr. High once. I have had wonderful experiences and I love working with children. I'm hoping to start collage soon so I can become an English teacher. English is one of my favorite subjects and always will be.
