As an undergraduate student, I performed very well in my classes and found that I was able to help many of my peers do well in these same classes. As a result, I decided to begin tutoring students in a challenging statistics course offered on campus. In college, I was a pre-medical and business student, so my range of knowledge is quite broad. Since graduation, I have begun tutoring homeless children locally through a program called School on Wheels. I also supervised laboratory experiments and conducted recitations
I prefer to do sample problems and to work through actual homework problems (systematically) in order to help the student understand the topic at hand (I have found this to be a helpful tool when one is learning chemistry).

I worked at LearningRX as a cognitive skills trainer where I worked with students who were having difficulty in school and I was able to find their areas of difficulty and help build those areas up while also helping with their memory, visual acuity, and processing speed.
I like to have a relationship with the students I tutored where they feel comfortable with me; I want them to be able to tell me the problems they're having with the work and what I can do to help. I like to be friendly with them while still being an authority figure where they want to do their best. I think this type of relationship allows me to push the students to their maximum limit without discouraging them when we're having a difficult session.
