My teaching style is to go head on with my students and to address every weak point possible. It is crucial to understand how the student both feels and interprets information. If a student does not seem to comprehend using a certain teaching method then it is imperative to find a different way to present the course materials. As a freelance writer, I feel it is important that children write well. I strive hard in my classes to help children use their imagination and creativity in writing. My other areas of concentration are reading, spelling, grammar, and language arts, During the last 7 years, I have worked as a substitute teacher for Memphis City and Shelby County schools, in grades PreK-6th grades.

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style can best be described as varied! I believe that children learn in numerous ways, so as an educator it is my responsibility to provide multiple experiences - visual, oral, tactile, etc. A person walking by my classroom would see children smiling, working in groups, accomplishing projects, and would hear noise.
After graduating from Vanderbilt University I taught 5th grade for 2 years while working on my Master's at TSU. I then moved to the Knoxville area and taught K until my son was born in 2000. We then moved to Wisconsin where I taught in various after school programs until my 2 children were old enough for preschool. I then went back part time and taught 4 K until my 3rd child was born in 2005. Throughout this entire time I tutored various children ages 8 - 15 years if age.
