My comments on tutoring Inorganic Chemistry : I never tutor someone for inorganic chemistry, but I know the basic

Have a PhD in organic chemistry. Have been teaching assistants in almost undergraduate level chemistry classes (general chemistry, organic chemistry, and analytical chemistry) during graduate school. Have more than 13 years tutoring experience. Paid my undergraduate college education through tutoring and scholarships. My strongest subjects are chemistry and mathematics.
I would like to explain a global picture of a class material, what to expect from learning the class. All of this is not to scare students, but to mentally prepare them with the challenge ahead. I like to give my student quizzes after the tutoring, just to make sure they understand. This is a feedback process, so I could adjust my tutoring style accordingly.

I have recently graduated from UCLA in June with a Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. My teaching style has been formulated since I was in college as a Teaching Assistant. I have found that although by following some examples to solve one or two problems may be a quick way to achieve a short term success, however, the students would forget them quickly and when the situations have some minor changes, they may not be able to solve the problem by themselves again. I would like to teach them the theory behind the problems and to make sure that the students have a full understanding of the subject. This is my personal experience. If you don't like the results, I haven't done my job.

I won the state championship in the 100 meters and went to Adams State College in Alamosa CO. Broke a leg in track and received withdrawn F across the board. Left college and healed up. Went to the Army two years and reserve three years. Came back and picked up the quickest degree possiable. Moved to Hawwaii, three years. Became a ciritified dept of defense government contractor. Furnish and deliver contracts. Ended up moving back home to Albuquerque NM. I started working in the Indian Casinos for 13 years. I bought a house and retired. But now I'm tired of sitting around.
All I do is tend to my students needs. I'm personal. Like to get off track with my students and lead them back to the point.
