I have been a certified teacher since 2007. I have experience with students with disabilities, which helps me to target problem areas for every type of student, not just those with on-paper disabilities. I tutor students at the high school level for math and English studies. I do my homework for each student, helping to assess where they miscue and how I can intervene. I make things more simple and make students' scores increase.
I prefer a more Socratic approach, whereby I question a student on "why" they are doing something rather than just repeating what they've been told or working from rote memory. When it comes to math, many kids can repeat the motions and get the right answer, but may not really understand what they are doing or why. I actually love the question, "When am I ever going to use this?" A Little Bit About Me...

I started around 2005 tutoring for the departments of chemistry and math in Queensborough Community College, from the basic levels in organic chemistry 2 and calculus. I earned my Associate degree in science from Queensborough Community College and finished my Bachelor Degree in Stonybrook University. At Stonybrook University also tutor chemistry and math. During the summer 2006, I had the entire department of chemistry tutoring under my guide. My experience comes from teaching my own classes and from interacting with my students.
My style is open to discussion. I like to ask questions to the student about the knowledge they have and based on that, apply my knowledge to build a strong base to be used as a core to solve more problems. I live the one on one interaction but also love the group discussion. I used to tutor an entire classroom during summer for 6 hours straight.
