Ever since I can remember, my mother has stressed the importance of obtaining a degree in higher education. Because of this, I have furthered my education by attending college. I am currently a senior at Brigham Young University, Idaho. I am majoring in Animal Science and minoring in Chemistry. I have taken advanced writing classes and have written numerous research papers in several areas of study. In high school, I tutored students in algebra. While working on my associates degree in California, I tutored students, including learning disabled students, in several classes. A Little Bit About Me...

I've gained experience with teaching in an array of ways. Firstly, I'm a recent graduate from BYU-Idaho in Piano Performance earning my Bachelor of Musical Arts. Throughout my training as a professional pianist I studied piano pedagogy and now have a functioning piano studio of my own. In addition, I was a music tutor and teachers assistant helping my fellow students grasp music theory concepts. Furthermore, I worked as a youth counselor at a summer camp called Outdoor Youth Activities (OYA) where we specialized in working with young teens. Here I had a chance to guide and counsel with teens in large groups and also a one on one personal basis.

I have a deep conviction to helping students achieve both their academic and personal goals. I don't feel that merely passing a class is enough. I want the students I work with to feel like they have accomplished something for themselves, and have really learned tools for success. I am patient and kind, but I also ask a lot of the people I work with. I believe that teaching a child to succeed means stretching their minds into new ways of thinking, which can sometimes be uncomfortable for them. Graduating from BYU-Idaho, I've learned that a quality education is of the utmost importance, not only for college-age students, but starting from infancy. I've earned my BS in Health Science, enabling me to have a greater knowledge of the health and wellness field in general. Also, I've learned to publish various professional research papers, adding to my grammatical, mathematical, and critical thinking skills.
