I have formal classroom teaching experience as well as experience as a one-on-one tutor. I've served as an adjunct instructor in physics University of Cincinnati for 5 years teaching undergraduate physics. This involves teaching basic math skills such as vector addition as well as physics concepts. I've also done one-on-one tutoring for high school calculus.
Strong emphasis on problem solving as a route to learning in either math or physics, since that's where rubber meets road. I don't have a formal experience of teaching in a class, but i do have a lot of experience from teaching my fellow classmates and occasionally teaching in front of the whole class. Its actually easier for me to teach one on one since I think I can give the student all the personal attention they need and will be able to devote more time inorder to make them understand the subject and master it. I try a variety of approaches to see what works with each student. If you have 25 students in a class, you can have 25 different learning styles. I believe a lot in hands-on and learning from others. A Little Bit About Me...

I was lucky to have had excellent teachers in school. Whenever I see students struggle, I want to show them a way by which they can understand the concept. I do feel with some effort and reiteration, students can understand and grow in confidence. The reason most of them find a subject difficult is because they don't understand it. Once they start understanding, they will experience a joy when they get a problem right. With time, this will translate into a love for the subject.
I worked as a Graduate Assistant when I completed my Ph.D. I have helped my daughters with their studies in school after that. My older daughter is now in college. I work full-time in the IT industry and would like to tutor part-time in the evenings or on week-ends in Math and Physics. It is a way for me to keep in touch with academics while helping students.
